Silly Todd. You have to go home FIRST before you can DVR an episode.
(I feel like there is probably a smartphone app or something to control one’s DVR from a distance, I just don’t know about it. XD)
I still have Lapel Pins in stock, so anyone who wants one but has yet to purchase one, now’s the time. Don’t hesitate to email me with any questions you may have.
Head trauma is an odd choice for a running thing, I admit.
Uh-oh, Todd is NOT wearing his happy face in panel 5 there!
There is an app offered by Cox and DirecTV, if memory serves.
If you have a TiVo, there is an iPhone app that allows you to remotely add shows to the To Do List.
I feel Selkie’s pain in the last panel there.
Back when I was a kid (oh god, I’m actually using that phrase), we weren’t even close to having DVR so every swim season I had to mourn the loss of my favorite cartoons. Of course, this was back when Saturday mornings were still chockful of my favorites, especially Kids WB.
Every swim season, my little sister would plead and beg, and, after some negotiation, I would agree to tape her favorite shows at home for her (I have an allergy to both sunlight and chlorine. It was and is miserable) in exchange for not having to do chores for the rest of swim season.
I had two channels of shows I wanted to watch, so I learned to operate the VCR to tape one while watching the other… 8 hours of cartoons (a little less if you fastforward commercials)
Good God. I had H.R. Pufinstuf, Scooby Doo (the original show) and The Jetsons and The Flintstones, which were the same show at opposite ends of time. I bet most of you haven’t even HEARD of H. R. Pufinstuf.
Hell, I remember when Space Ghost was a serious kids show.
Now I really feel ooooooold.
I remember Space Ghost and the Herculoids. Although I think when I saw it it was reruns on USA’s Cartoon Express block (which I can still remember the name of somehow. XD)
H.R. Pufinstuf was before my time technically, but my dad had some VHS tapes of the show he introduced me too, and I watched them regularly. I remember thinking the witches talking castle must be hard to live in, since all the floors move around when it moves it’s mouth.
Some DVRs can be controlled via the Intarwebs.
And I am LOVING Todd’s license plate. I didn’t know he was a pirate.
Is that a “The Ballad of Halo Jones” reference I see? Does his licence plate mean different things depending on how you’re swishing your tail?
Lol, I’m so glad I’m not the only one who thought that. XD
Nope, it’s from the song “Talk Like a Pirate Day”.
Procurator bandaged ice that stampedes inexpensively through a scribbled morning weighing necessary ankles.
Uhh… get a hockey player from a second-rate team with scheduling problems to figure out team recruiting?
I looked it up because I had no clue what it meant and this is what I got on TV Tropes:
In “The Ballad of Halo Jones” Proximen have to buy words to add to their names, making name length an indicator of class. A Proximan in a position of political power, for instance, is called ‘Procurator Bandaged Ice That Stampedes Inexpensively Through A Scribbled Morning Waving Necessary Ankles’, whereas one encountered by the heroine at a bus stop tells her, “Name is Snivelling. When can afford second word in name, will be Snivelling Earthquake.
(My first thought was to worry that Dondonesque had had a cerebral incident and lost his/her words but retained his/her grammar the way my mother did when she had a mini-stroke.}
Pins? YES PLEASE (I will be getting one for sure!)
I just received my pin! It is adorable.
Yay!
In addition (no pun intended) to Todd being concerned about the effect of “a joke” on children’s appreciation for math (a lot of kids are scared of math, and look how successful he is for not being scared of math), this will a) reintroduce him to Jessie and b) put him back in contact with Mina. Interesting.
I want to like this comment.
But I am also liking his re-introduction to Jessie, and once explained, after hearing previous tales about Alexis and her shoe thing, he might be a bit more understanding. And I like the more contact with Mina, but I might be seeing waaay too into that.
no i see possibilties with mina as well
He’s about the lay the dad smackdown. Seriously though, I don’t think he appreciates that his daughter (who already doubts her skills in a lot of areas) questioned herself again for not understanding the homework. The fact that he isn’t letting this go easy is completely reasonable.
I plan on getting a pin, too:)
I got knocked out in kickball before. No hard feelings tho.
Sry for double post. I remember when I did that sorta stuff now, I wait for everything to fall in place.
AT&T U-verse has an app for android and iphones that lets you control your DVR from a distance. It also lets you watch certain shows on your phone.
Selkie has believable priorities. And few kids take well to having to go back into the school building after they’ve already done their daily hitch. I sure wasn’t one of them.
nor was I!
Did Selkie’s dress get longer since she started this day?
Definitly got longer since last post!
I’m thinking that if the skirt has an elastic waistband or a drawstring she probably tucked the skirt up earlier it in order to shorten it, perhaps when she was on the school yard playing before she went into the school. It’s hard to run in a long skirt like that so pulling it up is a natural thing to do, at least if you are a kid.
Sounds like you’re making a bid for one of Stan Lee’s “Noprizes.”
I never did that as a kid…long and wide skirts isn’t a problem, only the tight ones… but that might be just me ^^
8-year-old me wants Selkie’s outfit in this comic. XD
Daddy has his war face on.
Yes! Todd has gained +1 level in Dad. Todd has acquired DADFACE.
