Hmmm…. This could be an issue … Sure, Selkie knows not to climb too high but they don’t… I hope this innocent teaching moment doesn’t turn quickly or were gonna see flying Sarnothi kids.
In any case, isn’t “101” in the context usually pronounced as “one-oh-one” rather than “one-hundred-and-one”? You’d probably say the same digits no matter what base you’re in. It’s not like you’ll ever have a “199” course.
Universities use a three digit system to label their courses based on difficulty and year accessibily. 101 for example. The first digit is what year a student should be to register for the class. The last number, 1, is what difficulty it is. So 101 is the base lines basics lesson for a course.
I’m so excited for Selkie having sarnothi friends!! And oh my goodness they’re perfect for her! XD
Tren’s gonna find himself acting as the only sane man between not one but two drama queens and their shenanigans.
Not sane for long.
BOHN BOHN IS ADORABLEEEEEE aaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!
“Hi, Bohn and Just!”
Bonbon and Train!
That was pure lol right there.

You know, using “101” as the name for an introductory course is probably something that doesn’t translate into Sarnothi culture, either.
Just Tren time!
“So we’re going to climb 100 more trees after this one?”
101… Hm… Have we ever established whether the Sarnothi use base 10 or base 8 or something else?
Selkie’s hand in this strip looks four-fingered…

And this has been my tedtalk.
