I was joking about Echo scouters a while back….. Here we actually have something of the sort. Also we pretty much know full well who is getting that info…
From about… a year ago, maybe? Agent Brown had to talk to Plo Quar because someone recognized Selkie as PQ’s daughter, and PQ basically said “don’t contact me unless it’s important.” So it might not be as nice as we’d like to think.
Well yes, but we dont know for sure who “Her” is. It could be Amanda. Or she cant be pestered do to her working on something? In the flashbacks, shes nice… And she hashim as a-hole, and he took her kid away….
It was pretty clearly contextually Agent Brown talking about Selkie. There definitely COULD be other motives for Plo Quar’s reaction than simple “she doesn’t care about Selkie”, just like there are definitely potentially other reasons for why she gave Selkie up. (I think, for example, that it’s VERY likely she was deliberately trying to keep her daughter away from the government projects she’s very likely working on as an Echo.)
That doesn’t mean meeting again will go easy for either party. There are at this point a LOT of mixed emotions Selkie has about being left behind with people who didn’t know how to take care of her and Plo Quar deliberately suppressing her Echo powers, and she’s nine. She’s not necessarily going to get that she might have been safer away from Plo Quar… and Plo Quar might not have realized her daughter was going to be poisoned by well-meaning humans who were nonetheless COMPLETELY out of their depth because they weren’t given a proper briefing. (They came up with “food allergies” AFTER the trial and error stage.)
Everything in this strip looks to be Pohl, and he’s the only one tagged. We deliberately don’t get to hear who he’s talking to… though I suspect it’s Then.
This could be nothing but the fact Pohl didn’t tell them about this is concerning.
He might not be able to tell them, if this has anything to do with that Oath that he took with Then and Scar.
oh yeah lol
That won’t matter to Todd if this all blows up in their faces.

Oops. We may have jumped the gun on discussing whether the children need to be punished…
Heh, selkie will want these results saved, since they show just how much more power she’s putting out than her sister.
Better not show it when Amanda is around, though. (‘^^)
On one hand Bad: monitoring without telling them
On other hand good: at this stage of their development and with new kit telemetry is basic safety.
UM. pls tell me hes talking to plo quar
That’s Then. Plo Quar purpley blue like Selkie.
i know, i just wanna know when we will see plo quar4 again. When SELKIE will see her mom again. Itd be adorable

Well that explains why he gave one to Amanda even though she didn’t accidentally set her hair on fire.
I wonder if they track anything other than power output… like location.
Getting a William Haber vibe here…
Great. Now the government is spying on children.
They have been doing that forever. what do you think schools are?
