Hmmm, lets read to much into this. Could very much be a human only trait, could be a sign that the power was somehow planted in Amanda (maybe through exposure), or signs that Selkie’s power is somewhat different (maybe due to her heritage). Or numorous other things… TAKING BETS!
My guess is that the force needed to pull it loose varies with intensity.
Since we know Selkie’s eye fire is relatively intense (and presumably she doesn’t have the control to reduce it on the fly yet), it might need more force to pull it out.
Yeah I don’t get why it’d rubber band like that. Its like a fire or energy, it shouldn’t be doing that. With how its behaving that “fire” would need to be a much more solid and physical thing.
I thought I read something about similar behaviour from “ectoplasm”, a substance supposed to be produced by spiritualist mediums, but I couldn’t find a reference on line (plenty about ectoplasms, but not about its elasticity).
