Hmm… still trying to figure this one out. Maybe reaching a bit here, but, going back to when they found out Amanda was an echo, Then had a thought that being an Echo could be taught rather than just being in inherent trait. Maybe the project is tied to that.
Hopefully it’s not the sort of thing where Pohl would end up coming to regret having agreed so quickly…
I am guessing that the defectors are rescuing enslaved echos to have their supressors removed so they can fight against the tyrants behind the war and reclaim their homeland?
I am hoping anyways.
I think Then misjudged which Echo would be easier to tempt. Pohl has always had a ‘serve the city’ vibe, since that was drilled into him at a young age. Plus,living among humans and seeing their history has shown him that his people need to be more than just refugees in order to thrive.
Now we just need to see which way Scar will bend.
