Tony’s French is based on Google Translate, so I welcome any additions to correct it so it sounds properly Quebecois.
-7-12-2019 edit- Today’s Selkie will be updating tomorrow. Just fyi. Thank you.
Google est très utile pour les gens comme moi qui sont assez bêtes pour écrire un dialogue dans une langue qu'ils ne parlent pas.
Yeah, this is probably an example of why they try to ignore him, cause he pulls crap like the snowball fight.
That and he’s probably one of “The Usuals” that she’s supposed to keep an eye out for trouble from…
Well, Google Translate seems to be working pretty well for English-French, the wording is perfect. It’s pretty standard French though, I wouldn’t know how to add the “Québécois-ness” (there are various degrees to it, as well)
I’m Canadian, and I’d be no help either. For some reason, we were taught European French in schools, rather than Quebecois.
Quebec French is apparently a sub-dialect of French so divergent that European French people can’t understand it at all (though the reverse is less true).
I always imagine it’s a lot like this:

Fellow web commic artist Gisselle LaGace (Ma3, Silly Dilly Buns, Eerie Cuties, Magic Chicks, Cool Cat Studio) is a francophone Canadian, you might contact her Twitter account @GisleLagace. I can’t guarantee anything but she has done work for me in the past.
I think you can also say, “maintenant, j’ai besoin de savoir.” (now, I need to know) Took 11 years of French. 😉
Remark from a native French speaker (however without much idea about Québecois). This is quite correct, but with too much of a written French flavour. I would propose
“Eh bien alors, il faut que je sache”
even if I am not 100% happy with the sound of it. “Alors” is one of those connection words with quite undescriptibled connotations, but which in my sense better transpose the urgency conveyed by “now”.
I like a mix of the proposed french above.
“Alors, j’ai besoin de savoir.”
I’m Canadian and we only learn Quebecois french but I’m west cost so we don’t really use it so I’m very very rusty.
So Tony is actually Québécois? I thought his french was mainly an affectation, and was wishing he’d get adopted by someone speaking Metropolitan French (French from France itself) so they’d harass him a bit about it. I guess I was wrong.
