The moment when you remember other people are around you while you’re having a pleasant conversation.

More fanart to share today! Comments section member Dondy shared a drawing her daughter R.A.M. made for “Motter’s” day.
I’m told the otter represents Dondy herself, hence “Motter’s Day”.
Thank you Dondy, for sharing, and R.A.M. for creating it!

Young love, that’s kinda cute.
Although I think someone needs to learn about timing.
If you are speaking of Selkie, I think her timing was right on. There’s something that can be said for glowing green eyed jealousy.
Yeah, the conversation we were having a few pages back, about whether or not this couple could be concluded to have a crush? The second panel here is a good example of “obvious” (background, gesture, and blush). Thank you, Dave ^.^
In panel 2, is she doing the “slow down, think, and use proper plurals”, thing that she was taught?
Uh, I think it’s more concentrating on what she’s trying to say because she’s in loooooove
yeah, i´m kinda getting the vibe that ‘telling each other stories’ might be the sarnothi version of flirting
Given that Te Fahn is nervous and doing the ponytail thing, and is *obviously* blushing, yeah. Definitely a romantic vibe there.
Yep, she is!
Selkie… you’re being a bad wingman.
Good thing there’s not a rolled-up newspaper handy, or … someone might have gotten smacked with it. That was Stealing Vulcan’s Thunder…. Or maybe Thor’s thunder… But definitely bad friend-work. I think Selkie’s envious, because she wanted a Sarnothi friend, from Sarnoth. AND didn’t want to lose Georgie’s friendship at the same time. What she doesn’t realize is that she can have minions and be the Ringleader of the Terrible Trio!
I wouldn’t take it so far as jealousy. I think its a simple matter of not reading (or indifference) to the mood. Everyone wants to put in their two cents when they were involved in a story. Its just, its a bunch of kids telling the story how kids usually do: trying to outdo the other.
Yeah, Selkie probably was just thinking “Hey! I also know that story!”. If she’s like me at that age, she’s 100% oblivious to the romantic intentions of her peers.
I kind of get the feeling Selkie really enjoys being the center of attention as of late and feels as though she must insert herself into whatever is happening at hand. It’s clear that George is annoyed and Te Fahn is disappointed, but Selkie isn’t seeing the visual cues here. As someone who is sarcastic and snarky 99% of the time, you have got to know when to turn it off. I also used to randomly insert my opinion or whatever came to mind on conversations I wasn’t necessarily a part of and had to work on not always being involved with ALL of my friends or coworkers when it came to things like this.
She’s used to everyone laughing and finding her funny and witty, so I doubt she even realizes what she’s doing.
Does anyone other than her actually find her funny? I remember mostly groans and eye rolling.
Case in point….

*rolls eyes* ugh, that’s just SO like a Jin’Sorai.
Maybe? I would have to go back and read the entire comic again, but most people seem to find Selkie pretty clever from what I remember? I assumed she was this way as a product from those around her. What I mean by that is, everyone expects and enjoys her sarcasm and dark jokes so much that it’s become a core aspect of who she is because of it. That’s why I always did it anyway. My friends always said how hilarious I was and so I started to insert myself and my opinions even when not necessary because I thought everyone wanted me to be dark and funny. No one ever particularly told me to knock it off and dial it back, but I realized myself how annoying and exhausting it was to always try and dominate a topic for the sake of being funny and unique.
I’m still sarcastic, but now I typically don’t insert myself into conversations I wasn’t a part of to begin with for the sake of humor.
I am too suffer from sarcastitis and often people take me seriously when I use my superpowers. I think most do find her amusing but she has had times where her goofy behavior has come across at the wrong time. Like singing the pirate murder song in the principal’s office, when she was talking with Mrs. A about her speech and she joked about setting a fire to get out of speech therapy. I’m not saying she was bad, just made a joke at the wrong time and was called out on it.
My mom loves otters too
Seriously good art lately, I’m impressed with the contibutions. They’re showing you the love, Dave.
