I watched the movie Contagion tonight before coming home to finish the comic… kind of terrifying if you think about the movie’s subject matter in terms of the real world. I usually hate when color balance makes everything green-yellow in[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I almost cut panel three and redid it more realistically, but to be honest the big angry fireball is what I remember every phone call to my angry parents feeling like whenever I did something bad.
Have a great piece of news to share with everyone today. Some of you may remember me mentioning in last Monday’s commentary thread that I was being interviewed by my local news paper about Selkie. The article went live yesterday![…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
After the last few pages of drama, it was fun to break the mood with some bickering. XD
Lisa is reading a pirate novel. She likes pirates. – – – – – Fan Art update to share today! Courtesy of Tinkerbinker, a drawing of a merboy inspired by Selkie: Thanks Tinkerbinker!
It's strange how things can evolve in your mind when writing a story. My original drafts had Selkie being more sympathetic to Keisha, but the more I think about their history and Selkie's personality, the more I realized Selkie would not be in a sympathetic mood right now.
Today’s strip is a bit of a continuity shout-out to Mark Henderson, the kid who was almost a recurring cast member. He showed up here right at the beginning, then was adopted out of the orphanage here, then hasn’t been[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
The little piece of backstory Keisha is starting here was something I wanted to drop in at the time she grabbed the shirt to explain her indignation, but there wasn't space to relate it properly and still convey the more important events. I think it works better at this scene, anyway. Rest assured, Mark was VERY sternly punished.
Happy Sketch Saturday everyone! I am making a children’s book for my Senior project. The tentative title is “Ghost Peach Party”. It’s about a little girl and her ghost friends and takes place in a cemetery with a peach tree.
Today's edition of the Secret Commentary is empty, because Dave failed to come up with something for it.
Sorry about the unfinished comic everyone. I wish I could blame someone or something other than myself, but I had a bit of a procrastination theme this week on homework and such. 🙁 I’ll try to have at least flat[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Forgot to add the Director Commentary at first. >_< Amanda is a difficult character to write for. She is troubled and vindictive, but also just a kid. She has modes of thinking that an adult or teenager with a similar personality wouldn't use. There's a lot to juggle with Amanda, and sometimes I wonder if I am doing right by her with the chronic meanness. On a related note, I kind of wish this was a real-life production so I could buy Heather an ice cream cone.
Dun dun duuuhhn – – – — Also got an adorable Fanart today from Ed Gedeon of Everyday Heroes
I deliberately left the emblems off Heather and Amanda's shirts in Jessie's flashback. I don't think her attention to small detail is very top notch. XD
