SCAR: Now, I want Amanda to be taking a test shot, while Selkie is doing of listening, okay?
SCAR: Try to pay attention for strange noises, yes?
SELKIE: Explosions. I gots you.
SCAR: Not that!
AMANDA: Okay I... I'm gonna try it. Nnnggh...
AMANDA: WHAT?! That's it?!
SELKIE: Aaaw, it's cute!
AMANDA: I'm gonna BOOM this thing!
Everyone: AMANDA, NO!

Today's edition of the Secret Commentary is empty, because Dave failed to come up with something for it.
Who doesn’t want a big boom?
Eeeeeverybody else in the room!
(Well…except Selkie.)
You have to be screaming in the back room.
/obscure?
Ha! The challenge has been set!
Where’s the kaboom? There’s supposed to be an Earth-shattering kaboom!
Came to say exactly this! 😆
These targets do block my view of Venus.
Well now I want fan art of Selkie meeting Marvin.
“Jamie want big boom.”
What’s that? There’s nobody named Jamie present? You’re slipping, Dave. 😀
… c’mon, do I need to say it myself?
“AMANDA YES! AMANDA ALWAYS YES!”
Well it is Thanksgiving. Something always blows up here. Have at it kiddo.
Better the target than the big meal, right?
So, just how tough are those targets?
I doubt “toughness” is relevant; they’re specifically made to absorb this type of energy.
Unless they can absorb and then utilize that energy to reinforce themselves there’s still a limit, the question is how high is that limit?
The correct response to AH, IT’S CUTE is, OKAY HOT SHOT, LET’S SEE YOU DO BETTER.
Although, even though she knows she’s not supposed to, and she’s been real good about not doing it, my knowledge of small children says that she would respond OKAY FISH FACE…
Under times of stress you have a tendency to react to something the way you used to would.
“Used to would,” curious expression that. Sounds like my buddy who was from Tennessee. Foxworthy used it too. Useful thing, that.
We do talk different down here in the south.
It’s going to be interesting to see what Selkie’s output is, when Amanda is the one “doing the listening.”
Not sure she can even do any kind of beam like that.
Nor I. I’m just wondering if Selkie and Amanda unconsciously work together somehow. An interesting experiment, if nothing else. 🙂
this is when you have the kid try to go super sayien.
*Bloop*
Amanda: So, you have chosen DEATH!
Better that than booga booga!
Old joke. Sorry.
Stage fright?
So am I the only one wondering how Amanda knows how to read tensei? At least, that’s how it appears, cause those didn’t look like normal digits on the previous page, this one clearly doesn’t look like any number I’ve seen in human language.
She might just be recognizing that whatever the reading from Scar was, it was “big,” and hers is not even close.
@Diane: looking that Scar’s score, there are five digits, and the indicator bar is wide almost to the end. The amount of bing is louder. Amanda got one digit, and the width of the indicator bar is wider just one little bit near the center point. I take it to be a disappointingly ineffective ding at best, according to the machine.
@ everyone: I hope she doesn’t rage-kill it. But she did pretty good at not missing it. Target practice was the goal.
AMANDA FUCK YES.
“That was the worst firebending I’ve ever seen!”
I think this is the funniest page of the whole comic!
