Honestly, all they have to do is make it to summer break and Andi can freely admit she’s seeing Jessie
I’d kinda like to see how this relationship began, but I know that’s not the thrust of the story.
I imagine it truly started in the school hallway after Then’s assembly. Andi confessed she was nervous and Jessie tried to cheer her up. They joked with each other fairly easily last we saw them together.
