Oversharing is over-caring

Todd: Mister K'Limdai.
Scar: Oh... To--Mister Smith, yes? Am sorry, was not of trying to intrude upon festivities.
Todd: No intrusion. You're not joining in?
Scar: Ah ha ha, no no. Is happy day, is good day. I am not needing to make it sour, yes?
Todd: ...Speaking of "making it sour". I need to talk to you, for a moment.
Todd: This may sound like "oversharing", but hear me out. When I was younger, me and my girlfriend-of-the-time had a kid.

Thought about cramming more dialogue into ths one to clump the next two pages together, but I don't want to over-weigh it.
Oh. this is an interesting direction…
Todd’s empathy has always been his most winning trait. He’s a better person that I am though. I wouldn’t be reaching out like that.
You mean you’d be giving Selkie a tooth?
Maaaaaybe.
Guess: The point of this story is that Andi is Amanda’s guardian. And while he is still the father and cares for Amanda, he needs to respect that and not contradict Andi or interfere in a way that would supplant that.
Y’all seem to have jumped to the conclusion that Todd’s little conversation will end with, “I’m Selkie’s father, so stay the hell out of our lives”.
To me it appeared that he was going to be saying, “many years ago I got my girlfriend pregnant. Did you get your girlfriend pregnant? Are you Selkie’s biological father?”
While I am aware that everyone accepts me seems to accept that as a fact, it is not canon. Dave has hinted around at it, but he has never come flat out and said it. And I believe it is something that Todd would want to know. Dumb of him to want to know it, but he probably wants to know.
Good old Otto Korket stuck his nose in again. That should say “everyone EXCEPT me”, not “everyone ACCEPTS me”.
I mean, I can’t speak for everyone, but I accept you as a person. You almost definitely exist and are probably good in your own wonderful ways and bad in your own unfortunate ways and are a myriad of interesting details to learn and enjoy in so many pleasant conversations.
Hey, throwback to those suits not being good for covert talk. Is this being overlooked in interest of plot development, or is it being exploited for plot development? Remember what Gien said about Selkie’s parentage coming to light….
