Not really story-related, but I accidentally had my colors swapped around while coloring Selkie, and I realized if you reverse her hair and skin colors, it’s not a bad palette for an old black lady.
Today's edition of the Secret Commentary is empty, because Dave failed to come up with something for it.
Amanda’s surprisingly spot on, quite perceptive of her.
Amanda does have first-hand experience being abused by people in a position of authority. Even if it’s towards someone she isn’t exactly particularly fond of, I’d imagine the idea of *anyone,* “Being a slave,” would be something of a trigger for her.
Poor kid..
I was just looking at the last one, and I’m pretty sure (without actually getting up and going out and looking at the saw) that you have the saw going in the wrong direction.
The way the teeth are oriented, the blade would be coming up out of the table into the work, trying to force the piece of wood off the table.
If the teeth were pointed towards Selkie, it would indicate that the blade is going down into the work, which helps to hold the piece of wood onto the table.
Selkie is going to be the BEST carpenter!
Somedays your comic captures the good in the world that I thought had been completely snuffed out. It’s warming the embers of where the hope in my soul had been extinguished. Thank you for being able to weave a tale that mirrors so many wholesome and real elements in with the amazing creativity.
I feel like this is building toward Selkie actually having better control over her echo abilities, like it’s giving her something to visualize.
I’m gonna laugh if this ends up being similar to the Mi’Traia Regimen, thus proving Pohl wrong.
Man, she *is* starting to Heterodyne, isn’t she?
I think you’ve caught the ‘Spark’ of the idea here. ;-}}
(If this doesn’t seem to make sense, look up Agatha Heterodyne, and all will become clear.)
