I agree, and I’d like to think that the reason she used the word “lied” is that she realized that the reason she forgot is that she was temporarily wrapped up in her own legends about herself. Not a deliberate lie, but a statement based on a version of reality she knows to be untrue—therefore, basically a lie, if an accidental one.
She beats it by continuing to be her indomitable self. Selkie’s resilience – to abandonment, bullying, family issues, just plain being “different” – is always her best quality.
I was trying to make you feel better and fell into my reflexive boasting habits, sorry. Lets go watch some movies. I think I’ve done this more then once during my teens actually, eheh.
I love that she owned that she lied though, rather than making something up or saying that she forgot, good on you Selkie!
For what it’s worth, I think she legit forgot.

I say! Well done, old Gel! Good show, that was. Good show.

“You sees, it all begans whens astronauts finds an evils space witch in a trash cans ons the moons…””
These two are so precious together, I so hope they’ll be BFFs.
I really love Te Fahn, I have to say, of all the newer characters.

I’m kind of surprised Selkie isn’t taking the opportunity to use Sarnothi. Previous comics indicate that she still remembers quite a bit.
