Well Dave, I see no reason that an anti-human-spit cream should be made of the same materials as an anti-sarnothi-venom cream; so I think you would be perfectly justified if you decided to change it to a different color.
Keep up the good writing; I have been enjoying this comic immensely.
I have to agree.
The dark pink colour was well chosen for the spots of irritated skin, typical of most rashes, but using nearly the same colour for an applied ointment just makes it look as though the rash has spread to her entire face now.
This is visually misleading enough to justify a ret-con, if you ever find yourself writing more incidents of humans being affected by Sarnothi saliva (as seems likely). Maybe make it a soothing green-coloured ointment, like Aloe Vera, or florescent blue. Cool-range colours to counter an angry red inflammation would be very intuitive to your audience. (Also, it would still be weird enough looking that Selkie’s laughing at it on this page would still make sense).
…and if you find time to quickly change THESE older pages to the new ointment colour of your choosing, all the better. The Ret-con would be a closed loop; seamless evermore. ^_^
As a parent who encourages their kid use her own medical cream to practice being able to do it herself, I can 100% confirm that this is as true to real life as artistically possible.
No, no, it is too early in the morning for that kind of brilliance. I anna see that so bad! Can we talk Mr. H Miazaki into bankrolling this? Pure genius.
Best I could come up with was, “Spirit, horse of the Silmarillion.”
He probably won’t be at this particular movie night, especially if Amanda is there. Not because she or Selkie would be against it (I mean, fight aside, they were acting pretty amicably while sitting there and have chilled out a bit) but because their parents are going to be, at best, concerned (if not furious) about the fight/injuries (reletively minor cuts & bruises, but parental instincts can override everything else at times) and probably won’t want either kid near the other for a hot-minute. Add in Tehk’s parents limited English, and the situation gets potentially dicier.
Now, there could be a “both parent groups come to get their kid at the same time” shenanigans, which could, if a level headed 3rd party is present, could moderate & get the situation mostly defused, and then he might be at movie night (group activity, parental supervision, friendly faces to both kids present at a not-directly-involved-in-the-fights kids home) as an attempt to keep things friendly & prevent another cycle of misunderstanding & snark/aloofness that lead to the initial fight.
That’s fair. I was thinking either he and Amanda would still want to hang out (the trope where two people get into a fight and then become best friends), or he would try to think of a way to come over to (A) still be with Te Fahn so she can help with homework, or (B) spite Selkie because he wants to see cool movies too and damned if she’ll stop him
Ghost Pigs gets right to the action, having to exorcise the ghosts while figuring out that did the deed. Plus the reveal of who the Big bad werewolf is? Masterful.
Meanwhile Ridingslayer is slower but has more character growth. There’s also great tension when they’re being chased through the woods. Also, Bree Winters as Ridingslayer? And we got a great spinoff series to boot.
Personally, I think Giantslayer is gonna be the best, Jack looks amazing and we have freaking David Keith playing the Giant King.
How many people is she inviting over and does Todd know?
One time my friend’s younger sister invited a bunch of people over without her mom knowing, but then she tried to spin it as a “surprise party” for her mom. Because who doesn’t want to celebrate a Thursday by feeding an unexpected group of eight year olds.

I can’t decide if that venom pun was brilliantly timed or poorly timed.
Still funny though
Is it me or is Amanda’s face getting worse?
It’s Dave’s new design.
It’s the anti itch ointment.
Making the ointment pinkish may have been a mistake. It worked on “alternate” Amanda, but maybe not so much on Amanda Classic.

Hey Dave, what happened to Selkie’s ribbon? I know they took the bow away because it was actually hurting her but what about the ribbon?
The ribbon itself is kept in her desk at home, in a safe place.
I have to agree.

Hah, I love how Amanda’s ointment is clearly just a tangle of scribbles.

Who wants to bet someone will figure out a way for Tehk to be there?

So, really a 50/50 chance by my fighting.
Figuring…by my figuring (dang autocorrect)
Still, awesome answer, either way it works for me.
And Empereur’s New Mecha, for the win!

“This is America, you’re allowed to be wrong.”
Glad to see that Amanda’s civics education is well in hand.
Eh, I can see both sides of the argument really.

How did you read my thoughts, get out of my head.
What can I say? I have a talent for thinking in universe.

HA! Your sister is much quicker on the draw than I ever was.
Ramona Quimby did it once, also.

Did nobody notice the nurse went from sarnothi to human in 2 posts?
It’s a April’s Fools tradition on this webcomic to species swap xD
Already a thing, several times since the late ’60s. Gotta love anime.
That was supposed to be a reply to Snow White and the Seven Samurai comment.
Is there anyone old enough to remember the movie short “Bambi Vs. Godzilla?” When was that 1975?
It was titled “Bambi Meets Godzilla,” and it was the year1969. Ugh, getting old sux.
*raises hand*
yep, i remember it… only cause i saw it about a year ago… 😀 though i’m a year older that it… yeah, gettin’ old does suck… blech.
