It’s been awhile since we saw the Activity Center. I tried to make it look more lively than it’s last appearance. Color helps!
I am going out of town for a bit starting this Wednesday. But never fear! I have gotten the next comic for Thursday already finished and uploaded, and I am working to get next Monday’s comic done before I go. If I do everything right, you’ll never notice I am gone and this newspost will have been a waste of your time. XD
Also! I have placed an FAQ page on the menu bar. Feel free to check it out, and submit any questions you may have, or that I have forgotten to place on the page. 😀
My brother and I use to solve a lot of intellectual and philosophical disputes (also who got Controller 1 when playing Sega) by roughhousing until someone quit or Mom grounded us.
Well, Monday’s came up just fine! 🙂 Don’t forget Shards has a 100th Strip Pin-Up going up on Tuesday, with the usual strip for Monday. I dunno if you caught the message or not.
I saw it! 😀 Well, the message I mean. Obviously the pin-up isn’t up yet. XD
This? This was my brothers.
Bah! Simply childs play. My brother and I were 2-boy natural disasters. There would be holes in the wall, brokern furniture and the ocasional wounded by-stander. They were good times but now that we’re older we can’t do that anymore.
This makes me surprisingly grateful that I don’t have siblings.
I feel bad for that boy though. I wonder what his household had been like.
I think it’s hilarious that Tony not only called Ricky a wimp, but that his phrasing means he called Ricky a girly wimp. 😀
Just as a heads up. The staging of the adult supervision coming to break up the fight is off. In the first panel she is sitting in a bean bag to the right of the door but in the last panel she is coming from a whole different direction.
Maybe you did this on purpose I don’t know just pointing it out that it was a bit confusing.
I may just be nitpicking though.
Wonderful comic I like the idea
You’re absolutely right about that, she just… magically teleported or something. Sadly, I don’t know if I can address the issue before I leave town… so, let me just grab my Bag of Authorial Hand Waves…
This slip of paper says “She went across the room to put the book back on the shelf, then turned and saw the fight and ran to break it up. In less than thirty seconds.”
Lets go with that? >_>
Do you actually know what Tony is saying????
It SHOULD be “You’re such a wimp”, but it wouldn’t be the first time online free translators have given me bad french.
The forms are all feminine–une, telle, mauviette. The “e” endings allow the final consonant sounds to be fully pronounced–and, on occasion, implying femininity in the person to whom the statement is addressed. Granted, my French is from school in the US so it might not be perfect… 😉
My brother and I used to do this lol. Now we settle all disputes via rock, paper, scissors. ^^
Bald kid speaks English!! Never thought I’d see the day.
it’s cool that you have a charcter that speaks french but…if you don’t mind, I found some errors (because I’m a french canadian) so if you want, I could help you if you need some help in french ^^ good work though! I love your comic ^^
I don’t mind at all! I’d rather be corrected than keep bad french on the page.
My sister and I have always gotten along well, save for a few occasions (kids will be kids and hormones will be hormones). We’ve come to appreciate our mutual harmony, compared to other families.
Love how Ricky and Tony go from calmly explaining why they’re fighting to right back into melee-mode, in just a few seconds! Ah, youth…
Those forms always imply/denote femininity when used on a person. So yes, Ricky was just called a wimpy girl.
Tony addresses Ricky as “vous”. That is the plural form of “you”. It can also be used when speaking to one person to show respect. Somehow I don’t think that’s what Tony meant…
I’m bilingual, sort of. My french isn’t that great but I know enough to understand what Tony’s saying.
its funny cause Charlie Brown (sorry forgot his name Dx ) is saing “You are such a pansy” xD
I know this is a really old page, but I just noticed: the supervisor isn’t tagged. Does she have a name? Has she appeared anywhere else?
She doesn’t have an official name. I used her to diversify the visible Oprhanage Staff a little bit, so it doesn’t look as much like Lillian and Mary run the place by themselves.
