Dave, this kind of thing is why Selkie is my favorite child character of all time. You must have a tremendous capacity to remember how you thought and felt at that age. Never lose touch with that childlike part of yourself; it makes you a great writer.
And, Lady Obvious, you’re right to be glad Selkie didn’t hurt herself! A lot of kids that age do because they still have so much magical thinking. I stuck my index finger in bedroom reading light because I’d seen a few too many cartoons of characters lighting up when they did the same thing. That was my last electrical experiment ever, except for science labs.
as a child i got in trouble for damaging things had thought indestructible the teacher was more seemed more focused on the damage done to his car then my excuse though so i got in a lot of trouble.
I think the “past” part should be differently framed. like in a cloud or something. First read through I thought that it was a normal continuous panel layout.
in panel one it looks as though he’s sticking his tongue out while looking at the bow… do Sarnothi do the “stick the tongue out when concentrating” thing normally, or is that a habit he picked up from socializing with humans?
Kid’s a natural born engineer.
Teeth: the original needlenose pliers.
Selkie’s in particular.
They’re especially effective with stubborn legos.
I can confirm, though sadly they do leave some evidence behind.
She may now safely conclude that it is not, in fact, chewable.
SCIENCE!
You CAN chew on it, it just isn’t necessarily a good idea.
Poor girl, she’s trying to hear her mom again. 🙁
What’s an equivalent display of affection for Sarnothi to kissing?
Stroking their face with the back of your hand, its in a flashback during the poison spit rash arc.
Correct, but I wish to clarify that it’s only an equivalent to kissing in an “affectionate” context, like a quick peck on the check or forehead.
Oh? So what’s the romantic version, then?
The romantic variation is the inverse of the affectionate: laying your open palm across their brow. It’s a sign of spousal-level intimacy and trust.
XD Selkie. You’re lucky you didn’t hurt yourself.

And she had the nerve to ask “How do you break a bow!” earlier.

apologize for terrible grammar (still no edit feature)
