For those in the Springfield Illinois area, I will be showing two illustrations at Donnie’s Homespun on Saturday night. Come say hi!
I settled on Mor'Kama, since the story involves spirits and the Mor'Kama are the spiritual clan. Also as another reader pointed out, the Mor'Kama have yet to be spotlit in the narrative so here we go.
I was wondering if you were a Whovian…
I’m actually a lapsed Whovian; last season I saw was the Tennant season with Donna as a companion. I’ve missed Matt Smith’s whole run, for example.
I’ve skipped most of Matt Smith’s run, but on purpose. I’m sure he’s a lovely fellow, but I was never able to buy him as The Doctor. Maybe The Doctor’s kid brother or younger cousin, but not the actual Doctor.
You’d definitely be surprised. I didn’t watch him for years, and then decided once the 50th came up that I would sit and /suffer/ through it.
I actually enjoy him. He is very childish, but it definitely covers up a lot of age in him. Smith channels his inner old man for the role and it definitely showed.
It was different, but very refreshing.
He was great in the 50th, (all my issues with moffat aside), and his interactions with characters are definitely unique.
Take what you will, but he isn’t as bad as *I* personally thought he would be.
Uhm, I’m still stuck on the guy after Paul McGann (no, not him.) I can’t remember his name, it’s too late in the evening– his companion was Rose…
Thank god for Amazon Prime…
Christopher Eccelston
That’s IT. I like Matt Smith a lot, but Eccelston is probably my favorite at this point.
His name is Christopher Eccelston
I’m glad to see she’s paying attention in her German lessons.
I think, I read it at least three times before realizing that there is a word in German (= my language). And just now I realize the spelling of ‘englisch’ 😉
Just for your information: both words are spelled correctly. They do not really form an entire sentence, but I wouldn’t expect that from Selkie anyway (not yet)
Grr, it took me four attempts to post that ;-(
Apparently
– 6+9 is not 15 (‘no spam. please retry’)
– you are not allowed to repost the exact same text (‘duplicate. you already said that’)
– copy-pasting it into a new comment box does not help
– a minimal change does help
edit:
Apparently you are a spammer if you hit the enter-button in the spam protection field (so don’t do that if you are nice ;-))
Sorry about the comment box troubles. Looks like the original comments got bounced to my spam folder, somehow. I’ll see if I can figure out why.
At least you managed to post the comment for the correct reply. I have a knack of posting replies for comments to the wrong people -_-.
Dr. Who! Awesomeness.
WIBBLY WOBBLY TIMEY WIMEY
Oh, hello Whovian
‘Maiden gets promised to man she does not love and runs away’ stories are known to just about every culture you can name.
I love that Sai Fen and Pohl are clearly HUGE DORKS with geeky interests.
Yups! ^__^
LOL the Doctor Who reference just made my whole night. And I’m with you, I’ve seen bits of the Matt Smith stuff, but the Last season I saw was with 10 and Donna… so still my favorite companion.
Yeah, she was great but my fav is still Sarah Jane Smith.
.
.
.
Yes, I am THAT old.
Sarah Jane Smith was the original BAMF.
Yay, Sarnothi mythology!
Yay, distracting us from the secret war!
Sarnothi mythology and British mythology combined! Coolness.
Just found your comic yesterday, and I just have to say:
Selkie is SO ADORABLE.
Around here you earn your creds by reading all of the archive in one go.
The Mor’Kama maiden doesn’t seem to have webbed hands….mistake, or significant?
Mistake. 🙁 Thanks.
Awww….and here I was hoping it was some secret plot point!
Maybe the membrane of the Mor’Kama is just harder to see due to their very light pigmentation. 😉
I can picture the family sitting around the TV watching Dr. Who… Such awesomeness…
Ah, Dr. Who… 🙂 I’ve been tempted to put something into Shards but haven’t had the opportunity. However, there was an unused scene in the current arc that I might be able to squeeze it into.
Dave> Love it so far:)
Sail Len spreckens ze 8-year-old! ^_^
That Doctor Who reforence though X)
I love Sai Fen dropping out of character in the last speech bubble and *cough* getting back into it.
