As is always the case with Tony’s french, I welcome and invite correction offers. Tried for “Snowball fight” on the translation website I use, I think what I put here is actually “Snow fight”, or maybe “The battle of snow?” Not sure.
-EDIT- Corrected. Thank you Sabsyla.
Also have some stuff to share today! I’ve made some Selkie-themed watercolor illustrations, and I’ve decided to put them up for sale on eBay. These are one-of-a-kind original illustrations, NOT reproductions, so if you’re interested, get them while you can!
And one last thing. Maybe this is just because I love drawing Sandy’s face, but I adore panel four so much I thought I’d offer a hi-res version. Do with it as you please.
Also comes in fully-toothed version:
The combat of snow. It works well enough. I like it.
Also, Sandy is adorably sneaky! I like her more and more each day now!
That tooth sure grew back quick.
https://selkiecomic.com/selkie295/ panel 3
That feeling when you knew you were forgetting something but couldn’t think what. XD
Actually that french litterally translate to “The snow combat” which sounds really odd to any french native individual XD.
I know in quebec we say “(une/la) bataille de boule de neige” Which is exactly “Snow Ball Fight”. Not sure if france has another expression
I know it’s a pretty long sentence and your bubble is already small, but that’s my two-cents on the matter.
this is also the first time I post and I must say I quite enjoy reading this comic
I can remake the speech bubble. Thanks for the correction.
Damn, I only just noticed she’s odd eyed… awesome
yeah it’s actually really interesting when you see someone who has different eyes I talked to a woman with one blue and one green and I found I was constently looking at her eyes….
So if a blue eyed woman was to wear one green contact lens, she wouldn’t have to keep saying, “Hey! My eyes are up here!”? 😀
My friend has one green and one brown eye. When I talk to her, I usually look in the green eye, as it’s easier to distinguish the pupil from the iris, to see her reactions.
ANd you might wanna remove het pupils in panel one, shel ooks postively insane… as in Dark Knight Joker insane.
You say that like it’s a *bad* thing…
Knowing Dave’s knack with facial expressions, I suspect it may not be
unintentional.
I dunno about Sandy being on a Why So Serious level, but if she is projecting a little bit of a manic energy, I am good with that. 😀
I love your director’s commentary!!! Big JP fan cuz I’m a paleo buff; … among other things.
Tony looks like Aang from the back in that last panel. Nice touch. 🙂
Panel 4 is probably my favorite thing you’ve ever drawn!
I believe “une bataille de boules de neige” is correct, with “boules” plural. That’s not speaking from great expertise in French, merely six years of school courses some years ago and a handy Google search. “Faire une bataille de boules de neige” is “to have a snowball fight.”
I forgot to make a note of it, but what you are seeing now is post-correction. I originally wrote “le combat neige”.
Ah, right, it does take an S.
Sorry about that XD
is that a *blushu* I’m seeing over there, moonsong? 😉
ive fallen for sandy shes too adorable and awesome personality
Tony must be freezing with no hat and no hair…
I was going to say… must be one mild winter.
Kinda late to be adding input, but it might be better the way you had it, “bataille de neige.”
What’s robin’s revenge? I googled it and all the came up was a kickass movie quote.
