Am I misremembering? I thought Scar only talked like that when he was speaking in English, but that he spoke “normally” when he used Tensei. (Not referring to the Echo fire, but to the speech style).
No no, I wasn’t referring to the color. I meant his grammar and semantics. I think I was conflating two different scenes in my head because I found where I was thinking of, and Dave mentioned he was only writing it normally so that it was easier to read. Basically I meant the difference between “the talking of like this when of speaking” vs “talking like this when speaking.” For some reason, I got it into my head that the translator in his voice box device was just wonky, and that his Sarnothi speech was fine, but after re-reading the bits where they visit the underwater Jin’Sorai village the first time, that’s not the case. Absolutely CRAZY how long ago that was.
