Today's edition of the Secret Commentary is empty, because Dave failed to come up with something for it.

Working on how she speaks I see. I’ll miss the pluralsies when they are worked out of her vernacular.
Maybe its just me, but Selkie looks a bit older in this comic, like before she was a fledgling preteen, and now she looks fully early teenager. If could just be the way her hair is drawn or whatever but if it’s intentional… Neat. Our girl is growing up.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks she looks older here.
I wouldn’t say she looks like a teenager, but she definitely looks less child and more tween.
I don’t dislike that, though. She is/should be getting older as the series continues.
I think it’s either an illusion from her hair being drawn a bit looser, or I possibly drew her torso a bit too long. It’s only been a week since Marta’s wedding, and she’s too young (9) for a major growth spurt
Thinking that it’s the hair thing, the effect (to me) is strongest in the last panels, where the torso isn’t really in frame.
Actually, 9 years old is prime time for a major growth spurt in a human girl. It is usually occurs between 8-13 in girls and 10-15 in boys. My daughter is 2 years younger than my son, and she had her growth spurt first, almost catching up to him in height at one point – but then he got his and is much taller as an adult.
Depending on how much time passes in the comic, one small thing I’m looking forward to seeing one day is when Selkie starts to get her face markings. I’m curious to see which of her parents she’ll take after there.
I really like that last panel for some reason.
Amber are you OK? Are you OK? Amber XD
Is the book a reference to something?
Reminds me of a recent Disney+ program that is named after a certain character but is not actually about said character.
