This is weird. If I go to Selkie’s Facebook page, I can click on the link and go to 1872. But if I just go to my bookmark and click on selkiecomics.com, it goes to 1871. Had the same thing happen within the past couple of weeks – missed two updates because my bookmark took me to an older comic. Very weird.
I see we’re having a little spelling difficulty. Going to bring a bag of jerky UT to Selkie, instead of OUT to her. And Grandma refers to the little redheaded girl as AANDA. Fairly certain they’re supposed to be an M in there.
I assume “Aanda” is a typo instead of a nickname, but as a nickname, I kinda like it. And I love the thought of this family getting close enough to *have* nicknames, which would be a milestone.
Okay the character development of Amanda is some of the best I’ve seen in a long time. Time was she’d kick and scream to get to go into a cake shop instead of having to sit in a car/van but here she straight up puts Selkie ahead of herself and asks if she wants to do the fun thing instead of her.
Like Dumbledore told Tom Riddle, love makes a difference. She’s got a mother that loves her, a father that loves her, grandparents that love her, and even his sister that loves her in a sort of “nobody is allowed to pick on my sister but me” kind of way.
Before she was locked in her own little niche in the orphanage – Amanda. She’s mean. Don’t give her any grief.
It would be cool if this happened. Grandma left the van running so the AC can stay on and keep the cakes cool. Somebody comes along and see the van sitting there with the engine running, and decides the car theft gods are smiling. He gets in, starts to put it in gear, and Selkie comes up over the back seat, screeches at him, and then spits in his face.
Of course then they would be late getting back to the wedding because of the police involvement, and the driver seat would be wet and stinky.

Both of those in the last frame.
I must stop reading posts before I’ve had tea, I thought you’d found a time machine.

A+ for this girl.

Laughing face with tears emoji.
