I had a few issues when I was younger of getting befriended by kids who just wanted to manipulate me or case my house out for stuff to steal. It suuuuuuuuucked.
Giselle should have ran when she had the chance, a lot of the crippling sweet spots to hit are on the lower body. Amanda ca make Giselle wish she never thought of pushing her.
I am getting the feeling that Giselle is planning on Amanda striking back and hard. That push did not look very bruising so it could be a provoking maneuver. If she got Amanda to retaliate, all evidence of aggression would be pointed towards Amanda. This would help further drive the wedge between Amanda and Heather, if they played their cards right.
Probably. Had a kid try this who played his cards wrong. He tried getting me suspended, but asked me first if this particular teacher hated me. I got light punishment for the provoked assult, but they explained to me -why- they had to be seen as punishing both parties.
The only school I’ve been two that had good counciling and student-teacher relationship assistance.
Wow, some of these kids are just awful, I don’t care what their age are or what grade of school they are in, their thought processes and behavior are just fucking awful.
Yes, I know, parents, bla bla bla. At the end of the day the only person responsible for your behavior is you.
Unfortunately, the school has a policy of punishing kids who fight back while rewarding the aggressor thanks to Principal Dumbutt and the Trunchbulls. I have a feeling Giselle is doing what Truck told her to do for exactly this reason.
you’re probably right, but i suspect that the plan is doomed. i can’t see lillian and marilyn letting anyone mistreat one of her charges. they strike me as a pair of very determined and resourceful ladies. who else could do what they do?
btw, it is interesting to see the difference in heather and amanda. heather is a mass of tears, but they haven’t come close to breaking amanda’s spirit.
Heather is crying because she’s so mad/upset from the fight with Amanda. Giselle and Lynni didn’t say anything to “break her spirit.” I don’t think Amanda “broke her spirit” either, but they’ve been friends for a long time.
Yeesh, at least Amanda has some abandonment issues to explain some of her behavior. These kids don’t seem to have any excuse. Seems to me this school also allows the orphans to get abused a lot because they have no one to stick up for them – and the other kids know it’s a free ride.
Well, Heather may have laid down the law with Amanda, but these two did not get the message. She’s tired of being used. I have a feeling this attempt to friend steal is going down in flames in the not too distant future.
I have good news Dave!
I’ve been playing Akinator (guesses the person your thinking of in 40 questions or less) and used selkie, he guessed it in less than 15 and shes been used 43 times ^__^
took me 39 questions to get him to lead to Selkie. And I like that they seem to have used one of the ancillary drawings instead of an actual comic panel. (At first Akinator thought I was leading towards Benny from LFG, which to be fair is kind of in the ballpark. Non-human, adopted, etc.)
ive managed to fool him with obscure things, but its only fun when he fails to guess something he should be able to.
the most tormenting moment is when you realize about 5 questions before he guesses that hes already got you. you see the question and youre like aw hell…
careful though its very addictive, i kept finding myself saying okay one more, for about 2 hours. glad i could share the fun hehe
I tried Akinator a few times. It guessed Marigold from QC correctly, but not Selkie (it guessed Beth from Better Days), Joshua from GWS (it guessed John Arbuckle), Bonnie N Collide (it guessed Hazel from GWS), Robert A. Heinlein (it guessed Daniel Boone), or Stephen Hawking (it guessed some weather reporter).
I tried Selkie myself just now and Akinator was not able to guess her (neither in German nor in English(got ‘Peppermint Petty’ among others)), although it had some suspicious questions like for a hair ribbon (in German) or funny teeth (in English).
And I can say for sure it is an AI as it kept failing the Turing Test, i.e. questioning things that were either out-ruled or given by previous questions:
female? -> Yes -> ….. -> male?
woman? -> No -> ….. -> beautiful woman?
younger than 15 -> Yes -> ….. -> Younger than 18?
I even got some questions a second time.
Gave it several more tries, but keep ending up with Susie Derkins, Peppermint Petty (even after negating playing baseball) and other little girls.
And when I finally entered Selkie, it got no match in the database. It seems to run on different databases depending on your location.
Once again tried Selkie and once again got Susie and Petty, but this time there was an database entry ‘Selkie (Selkie Webcomic)’ to choose (I did not add it).
After that it took Akinator three guesses and 54 questions to get that I still thought of Selkie.
And I got more proofs for my distinct-databases-theory:
– There was no picture for Selkie and she had been used only 4 times before.
Yeah well, when I said “right now” I meant ‘in that moment’ of having just finished reading today’s comic and that is how I felt. I may feel differently in a couple of days – but right now? I remember my own school years all too well and I’m just too mad “right now” to be forgiving.
For some reason I like Giselle right now. Sure, she’s being a bully, but at least she’s a cruelly honest bully – plus the person she’s bullying is a bully herself.
Every time someone tries to convince me that protecting children’s innocence is somehow important… I always wonder if they’ve ever met, spent time with, or had a conversation with a child in their entire lives.
Where do they think bitches and bastards come from?
Well, I’m surprised that Amanda went down. Musta been in a state of shock from hearing THE PLAN.
Somehow I don’t think Giselle is going to be standing much longer, though.
Cue Amanda snapping Giselle’s spine over her knee

The gauntlet has been thrown, and now Giselle is gonna be beaten down with it.
Unfortunately, the school has a policy of punishing kids who fight back while rewarding the aggressor thanks to Principal Dumbutt and the Trunchbulls. I have a feeling Giselle is doing what Truck told her to do for exactly this reason.

Oh yeah, there will be blood.
I have good news Dave!

Neat! Not familiar with Akinator, is this an AI?
took me 39 questions to get him to lead to Selkie. And I like that they seem to have used one of the ancillary drawings instead of an actual comic panel. (At first Akinator thought I was leading towards Benny from LFG, which to be fair is kind of in the ballpark. Non-human, adopted, etc.)
Always fun to see if Akinator knows somebody!
ive managed to fool him with obscure things, but its only fun when he fails to guess something he should be able to.

I have never heard of it either. Have you tried Shards yet?
just tried miss muffet, unless i spelled it wrong, they dont have your version in the list.
shards would be hard for alkinator because nearly all of the characters are based on existing ones though

And I just played Amanda. And had to do her description…
I’m amazed that Amanda worked when she has no associated image. XD I stumped him with Heather though, he didn’t know her.
side characters tend to not be in it unless its somthing much more widespread i doubt even todd is in it.
that said, ive had it guess a reallllllly obscure side character from a semi common anime
If Goo had an evil twin.
Right now I’d love to see Giselle get a Swirly. They’re in the right place for it. 🙂
No, just no.

I’m really starting to hate these kids…
I just tried Akinator (from Australia) and it guessed Selkie….
“B-word”? When I was in grade school oh so very many years ago the girls were just as foul mouthed as the boys. And those B-tards had foul mouths.
For some reason I like Giselle right now. Sure, she’s being a bully, but at least she’s a cruelly honest bully – plus the person she’s bullying is a bully herself.
I love how all it takes to start rooting for someone we usually hate is a little bit of EvilerThanThou.
