One thing I learned after becoming a dad myself, is that when you first become a dad, you kind of forget that anyone else could be a parent too. But after a while you realize that MOST people you interact with are parents. Scar is falling into that.
Probably because it is all so new to you that your brain assumes that it must be new to everyone else. Logically you can know otherwise, but brains can be weird like that.
I wonder how much of Scar’s behavior is just because he can’t do things for Selkie even though he wants to. When you want to be the one doing things but instead have to leave it in someone else’s hands (for whatever reason), it can cause a lot of frustration. Even more so when it is something you like doing or about someone you care about.
Imagine you have a child who doesn’t like driving, but you enjoy it, so you don’t mind picking them up for the holidays and coming over the snowy mountain passes since you have the time. Only this time, you’re unable to for some reason and have to trust the person that they are hitching a ride with instead.
Pohl is a dad, Scar. I’m pretty sure he’ll put it on his own head a lot harder than you ever could.

I think this will be the one thing in which Scar and Todd are in agreeance.

Don’t forget that Todd basically told Scar to back off. Justified or not, he’s likely feeling frustrated.
So at what point do Selkie’s people call her like the chosen one or something?
IIRC, Then has already tried to say that Selkie ought to be helping her people.
It’ll probably be fine as long as Pohl checks on her more than once every eight years or so.
I just realized – I’m pretty sure Scar is talking about literally putting the failed device on Pohl if it ends up hurting Selkie.
Not “putting it on his head” as in “placing blame” but literally putting it on Pohl and making it hurt him.
Um. Yikes.
Is there a typo in the last panel? Scar says “If HIS device…”. Should that be “If THIS device…”?
