Story resumes next update, I just couldn’t let this milestone go by without doing a little something different for it.
Thank you for reading and for sticking with me through 2000 strips of this sweet little meandering story.

Oh, wow!!
Congratulations, Dave! <3
Way to go! 🥳🎊🎆🎇🎈🎉
A big milestone indeed! Congrats <3
Congratulations, thanks for all the work you’ve done keeping it going, and well done holding our interest all this time!
I think having a sister has been life-changing for BOTH Selkie and Amanda. Kudos to Todd and Andi for making it work for both of them.
The fact that a pen and ink can evoke opinions and emotions like this is a testament to you, Dave.
Congratulations on what has long been my favorite webcomic.
Wow. Good work. Keep it up. Get plenty of rest.
Llongyfarchiadau!
Eh, you don’t meander as much as most. Just occasionally reference (but don’t belabor) the value of early lessons and a good upbringing in the kids’ future adventures, and contextualize it within the greater cultural assimilation back-and-forth, and you’re golden on that front.
Wait; ONLY 2000 strips? Are you sure??
You are a MASTER of pacing. So much has happened that I cannot believe its been only 2000 strips, and yet I don’t feel like anything got rushed. Nothing meandering about it.
Thank YOU for giving us such a great story, Dave. I look forward to us all being here here celebrating more anniversaries before we know it.
Yup, this was my reaction too. Feels like a lot longer.
I mean, I’ve known other webcomic artists (most notably tailsteak) who’ve managed to tell grand tales with tons of interwoven subplots in 1000 strips precisely, but 2000 strips still *feels like* a small amount compared to all we’ve gotten so far.
Hmm… let’s see. If there are roughly 50 weeks in a year (accounting for occasional lapses), then two strips a week would be 100/year, and 2000 strips would be 20 years, right? If four strips a week, then 10 years. So at three strips a week, I’d expect 15 years… and a quick check says this strip started on May 24th, 2010, which is 14.5 years ago, and… wow. Yeah. That’s… that’s a lot.
Proof of what can happen if you start a project and stick with it for the long haul, regardless of the skill level you start with. It has been an absolute pleasure to watch your skill develop in art, storytelling, and characterization. You give me hope for some of the areas I’m still struggling with.
congratulations!
Here’s to 14½ more years.
Happy anniversary.
I liked this comic before the Sarnothi ever turned up. I like it better since then. I look forward to more.
Congratulations!
