Gratz to everyone who called it. They’re *all* Echoes!
This is heartbreaking but also very very cool. That Echo child in the middle almost makes me chuckle. That poor kid (assuming kid, seems smaller than the rest?) is absolutely OVER everything about this day. I don’t blame them. The expression is great, though. Well done, Dave!
At this point I kinda hope that Amanda doesn’t reveal her powers too soon, because Echoes whose powers have been forcibly suppressed learning about a human who somehow has the powers and the freedom to use them would likely burn. Just a bit.
Albeit, if for some reason Amanda’s powers and/or Selkie’s powers were sufficient to remove some or all of the limiters… hmm.
Anyone else not seeing the new comics? They only show up for me several days late, or if I’m lucky, i can hit ‘random’ then ‘last’ and see them the day after posting. Not sure if its a glitch?
Due to schedule issues, I have been getting updates posted at approximately 5 PM CST on update days. You might try checking in the evening on update days. Aside from that I don’t really know what could be the issue.
I’ve noticed strangeness with the updates on the website as well. For some reason, if I use my phone it will show the updated page even when the pc does not. At that point I come back to the pc (because it’s easier to read) and refresh the page – and then the new page loads. I have no idea why.
I think its a site issue or something, not you! Because when I do see them, they say the date/time you’ve posted. I’ve been checking later in the evenings. For instance, this page was posted around 5pm on the 6th, but I didn’t see it until the afternoon of the 7th after hitting “random” then “last”.
Not sure if its just me or not! But wanted to bring a potential bug to your attention Dave. 🙂
I’ve noticed that my browser tends to keep cached pages, so I don’t see new comics until I hit Reload.
I’m pretty sure there’s something you can configure in the HTTP server so browsers will know not to trust their caches (other comics I follow mostly seem to have no trouble with it), but I don’t know the details.
For a while I can only see the new ones by going to Facebook and looking for them there.
Then I figured out how to do this. I go to whichever one shows up at selkie.com. I click on comments. Then I go up to the url and increase the number. Like all day yesterday, up until 10:00 at night, the only one that would come up with 1906. So I go up to the Earl and I change it from saying 1906 to 1907. And then I got the new comic.
Been having to do this for over a month. It was very frustrating until I figured out how to do a workaround. Now it’s only minorly frustrating.
And on the subject of white. The woman that was teaching the speech class was white. And she, and the obnoxious child with her, seem quite proud of the fact that their clan can spot an echo at a thousand paces.
Which led me to believe that their clan did not have any echoes. So why are there two in the center of the picture?
Honestly, that’s all kinds of fucked up. Cern exiled the other clans–but kept the Echoes from those clans. Basically “Sarnoth belongs to Sar’Teri, except those of you we can use, you’re slaves now.”
So… looking at the relevant pages, I’d say Kentucky Lake is where the US government should be looking at to resettle sarnothi refugees. Well away from the Great Lakes, plenty of power from the local dam, and a LOT of invasive carp that nobody’s going to mind the sarnothi eating.
Oh snap!
Well, now selkie has a side job for when she’s older; massive jail break.
Also, fingers crossed that angry baby in the middle can give her some tips.
Oooooooooh

Are you really telling people to eat WMD level spicy food?

As Cap would say “I understand that reference!”
So… In b4 we have a My Hero Academia Echo class arc!
Is that Plo Quar on the left?!?!?!
I came here to say that same thing!! I bet it is.
Doing some Archive digging https://selkiecomic.com/comic/selkie1311/
I guess maybe not, Plo Quar has a triangle of spots, this girl has a crescent. But same clan for sure.
Oh, I hope so.
Child with a mustache.
Ahh! I saw it as the “angry trollface” meme-guy first, but after reading your comment I cannot unsee this smol angy child with a fu manchu!!
That pissed off Kid is my new favorite character. Look at the size of that frown!

Oops! All Echoes

Yes! Its been about since December for me.
Is that a very small child hiding way in the back, maybe clinging to a parent’s back? Also with an Echo headband?
I think it’s the wrong color to be a parent. The small child is green. The adult with a broken wrist is white.

They never said there were no Echoes in their clan, just that they can spot them.
This looks like all the clans are represented in this group of Echoes.
Honestly, that’s all kinds of fucked up. Cern exiled the other clans–but kept the Echoes from those clans. Basically “Sarnoth belongs to Sar’Teri, except those of you we can use, you’re slaves now.”
Yeah, I was wondering if it wouldn’t be something like that… but still SEEING it is brutal.
