Marta and Steve are both automotive engineers, if one needed reminding.
Today's edition of the Secret Commentary is empty, because Dave failed to come up with something for it.

My last engineering project was an EV.
Oh dear.
Double glowies! What does it mean?! 😀
I really hate to be the one, Dave, but “green” is misspelled in the last panel. 🙁
Maybe geen is a new color created by Sarnothi!
Oh, that’s fair! I sit corrected!
Oh boy… Why do I think Avery and Then are gonna be VERY involved coming up?
My experience….. “People who WANT power are the last ones who should be given any. They never do anything good with it.”
Fite me.
I’m sure there are good people who want power for the sake of doing good and who’d even keep their good intentions if they got that power… but those power-hungry people who shouldn’t ever be given power are more willing to do whatever it takes to get it and keep it.
People want power to do good in most cases, I’m pretty sure. It’s just that their definition of “good” is usually different to those currently in power (why else would they need that power in the first place) in better or worse. And probably the more different, the more they want the power.
I’m not entirely sure how those who want power just in order to be worshipped fit into this theory of mine. Perhaps they just equate good with their own prestige.
The do-gooders are often the worst. They don’t know what you need, they ignore what you want, and they’ll do “good” to you no matter how you try to stop them.
I think in any situation where someone has power over others, like teaching or police work or politics or medicine, there are those who are there because they’re looking to help, and there are those who are there because they’re looking for victims. Unfortunately none of our current systems are set up to check for helper vs predator behavior BEFORE the person actually gets into the system.
Too big a secret, with too many who know it, to keep indefinitely, nondisclosures or not. Seriously, I’m amazed Selkie has been able- so far- to keep from blurting something out, or showing off. It’s a lot to ask from someone of her age.
Exactly. The Men in Black had better start thinking about how to deal with the situation, once the whole thing comes out – because it ineveitably will
ESPECIALLY if industry is getting their mitts on it.
Especially for a car, all that shit has to be documented. You can’t just have a little green box of Sarnoth Tech and say “here there be dragons.”
