If the trees talk to you and you’re not a Lorax, best to run.
Today's edition of the Secret Commentary is empty, because Dave failed to come up with something for it.
If the trees talk to you and you’re not a Lorax, best to run.
Ok that’s…kinda brilliant. Just using the spooky voice.
Agreed. Especially since Amanda’s voice…flickers? Adding extra spook.
I have always read it as the effect you hear in lots of movies where a spirit talks with both their own and the possessed voice at the same time.
Or in case of Galadriel in LOTR not really possession, but a stacked set of voices (her own and a deeper one, probably even a “flat” one: no bass-tones only treble).
And with this long of a monologue, with the flickering one would probably recover from the initial shock and go “Wait, is that Amanda’s voice in there?” Probably not at the age of 10, but I think if the adults hear it, they’ll recognize the voices.
That being said: They’re gonna be in a shitload of trouble. Especially Selkie with her Truck accident.
Just.. gonna put this out there…
There’s no way Selkie and Amanda aren’t getting caught.
But, yes, excellent prank. 100% Aria Approved.
Nothing worse than real monst…er, cultists!
Considering that it was hinted that Echo powers in humans were the base for stories of witches and wizards. I guess they’re more real than guessed.
Does Amanda realize this make her a REAL LIFE witch?
Um, no…. Nononono!!!
This will end in tears. Selkie, this is your birthday party. All these people are your friends, and they’ve come to celebrate and play WITH you!! Making your friends flee in terror in your own birthday party (and planning to make one of them CRY) is a bad idea!!!
This is a fun adventure, actually! You think it won’t be their favorite story to tell from now on?
Having been rough-housed to the point of tears by my friends in my own birthday party, and being left with the really bitter aftertaste that my own friends were unable to realize that play-assaulting someone can hurt said someone, I doubt it, no. Sandy and Wu might be feeling hurt, embarassed and betrayed by this when they leave the party.
What did Wu and Sandy do to deserve the Tony treatment?
Gotta prime the trap somehow – they probably have a more severe version in store for Tony.
Eh kids scare each other. It’s normal. I mean are you seriously goi g to sit there and tell me you didn’t use YOUR supernatural powers to generate a terrifying voice to tease your friends when YOU were that age??
Hey now, that’s not fun. I’m all for pranking Tony – he’s a jerk – but the others are cool so leave them alone.
….IS Tony really a jerk? He always gave me the vibes of “I like you so I’m going to pull your pigtails”. I thought he genuinely wanted to hang out with Selkie and that he thinks she’s cool.
No, im pretty sure he’s a jerk. I can’t recall the specifics now but IORC his past behavior has been pretty jerk facey.
…Is he? I remember him throwing balls at Selkie, I don’t remember anything much worse. Amanda and that trunchbull kid were the ones acting with cruelty.
I can only recall one instance where Tony was nice or trying to be nice to Selkie, and that was when he was trying to apologize for one instance of being mean. We’ve seen him call her names, he participated in cornering her with Truck and Amanda (though he tried to make Truck stop hurting her), he targeted her in dodgeball when he knew that she had trouble running, and the last time we saw him, he had told Te Fahn and George that Selkie embarrassed Te Fahn on purpose, and soon after that made fun of her again by teasing her about the “girlfriend” situation, and then claimed he was the morally superior one for “warning” them about her “evil plot” when he would know that Selkie would never hurt a friend on purpose.
I don’t think they were trying to prank wu and Sandy. They just got caught in the area of effect. Sound has a way of just traveling everywhere
Considering what removing the suppressor does to Amanda, I salute her dedication and willingness to sacrifice for the cause.
Amanda: “Ugh. I’m feeling sick after all that.”
Selkie: “Mores cake for me!”
Amanda: “I will eat that cake and barf it up just to spite you.”
Selkie: “Fair.”
Calling it now: either George or Tony is going to Resonate. Maybe both.
Man, I would love to see George get powers. Though I’d be equally happy if he stays just the way he is.
I know these are kids, and dramatic kids at that, but this is so obviously going to go badly I’ve been having secondhand embarrassment and worry about them for the last week or so. ;;
This reminds me of the meme going:
I am the Lorax, I speak for the trees.
And the trees speak Vietnamese!!!
i’m willing to bet that the witches were real
I gotta give it to Amanda, that’s actually a nice little spooky rhyme.
