I mean, my family all pretty much uses it ironically to annoy each other, so I don’t know that it would work for us.
(Except for my sister, who picked up “yeet” when she went to college, and now uses it ALL. THE. TIME. Maybe I need to get my dad to start misusing it… >:) )
Arguably, “sus” is more a slang used by people Jessie’s age bleeding into those kids’ generation. Most of the people I hear using “sus” seem to be between 18 and 30.
Oh man, talk about feeling old. The only “Sus” I was aware of was the verb, as in “sus something out”. It took me 15 hours to realize the word, in this context, is an adjective, and short for “suspicious”.
I don’t get it; someone links “Hip to be Square”, but not the song ACTUALLY referenced by the secret commentary.
Guess I have to do that for all the purple people out there: Purple People
But I’m always purple…
I, too, am always purple.
I was already Tracer!
…my slang might be dated.
Come of it… I don’t think we ever saw Selkie do keys…
Maybe not, but she sounds hip from where I am sitting.
Jess is in her mid 20s about, right? It’s more her slang than theirs.
I’m in my late 50’s and I say it’s more MY slang than theirs.
Back when I was hip, I was still a square. At best a square with rounded corners.

Best way to get kids to quit using slang is for adults to mimic it.

That is how I get my kids to stop using slang, I beat it to death.
Is it weird that I was actually waiting for this reference?
These memes are, just saying, among us… XD
It’s not worrisome, unless they’ve only 1_Eye, 1_Horn, & they can fly.

I believe I’ve been told “sus” is actually AAVE in origin!
In the Lyrics to the rock opera Tommy(by The Who) they used Sussed in “We’re Not Gonna Take It.” So 1968-1970 ish?
Legit, totes sus.
