The shape, consistency and color of feces aka “poops” tell much to those who know such things. Haven’t seen any from sharks, whales, dolphins but I have for gold fish. Nor from any Deep Ones or merpeople either.
The color would depend on a number of things. For example, human poo is brown thanks to the dead red blood cells (RBC) in it and the enzymes in the large intestine. When RBCs die, they get broken down into bilirubin, which then further gets broken down into bile and/or urine. Bile is excreted by the gallbladder into the small intestine to help break down food. The waste products from the food (along with the bile) then go into the large intestine and becomes poo. Green poo hasn’t been processed long enough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueOnWXEDBwc
Green poo should only be cause for alarm if it happens on a regular basis.
Finally caught back up! Love the comic, but I just have to say that I’m pretty sure the CIA isn’t allowed to work inside the boundaries of the U.S. without a special dispensation–that’s usually the FBI or Homeland Security.
In conclusion: I give minor details, everybody poops.
We don’t know for sure, but the current evidence suggests somewhere in the Great Lakes region. So technically, probably still in the US. But we’ve seen that her civilization has its own cities at the very least. It could be considered its own separate nation.
Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings
in the rooms of her ice-water mansion.
Old Michigan steams like a young man’s dreams;
the islands and bays are for sportsmen.
And farther below Lake Ontario
takes in what Lake Erie can send her,
And the iron boats go as the mariners all know
with the Gales of November remembered.
Is the picture on the wall the same one Andi saw when she visited Todd or are they getting more family pictures? It would be cool for them to have a big group photo of the whole gang (dad, aunt, uncle, and grandparents) somewhere in the house.
I’ve been reading this comic for months and I really wish the author would handle the story better. His ideas are great but the way he introduces them are not very well done.
I am glad the author chooses to share the story. I can always choose not to read a story that someone made available, but it’s really hard to read a story that wasn’t shared.
Actually, I think this one is told quite well.
Sure, you could argue that it could be more professionally presented, but then he’s not billing us for professional entertainment, either 🙂
If you don’t know what you’re talking about well enough to provide specifics, you’ve no business saying anything. And if you *do* have specific suggestions, give them, and skip the passive-aggressive ‘I don’t like this, ask me why’ approach.
Reminds me of when I ruined a whole story arc by suggesting you put the care list up instead of Todd stumbling around on things he should already know. The one thing I think you should do tho is a bonus sketch or background of Selkie’s peoples city in the lakes or ocean
Dave’s got all the right in the world to be upset that a CIA agent is fiddling around with his daughter. CIA agents may be secretive about what they do, but they *are* public servants.
I’d tweak the dialogue on this one, too many “Word…Repeated Word”s in a row for me, it kind of breaks up the flow when I read it. Removing just one of them, or maybe two might help? Love the comic, and I think the introduction of this new plot is pretty seamless–and intriguing! :V
Remember, we don’t know the specifics of *why* the CIA is keeping an eye on Selkie, or even why Selkie’s mother left her at the orphanage.
As I recall, the intent wasn’t to leave here there long enough to even need to be adopted. Her mother told her that she was “…going to stay here a while” and that “…I won’t be long.”
Far be it from me to speculate, but perhaps Agent Brown is simply keeping an eye on someone he feels a responsibility for, rather than conducting an “operation.”
What does her poop look like? I bet it’s fish shaped.
Is it fish shaped? I think it is.
I would assume pink with glitter.
I just got a random image of one of lose long red rubbery poops my goldfish swim around with..

What, that isn’t what the poops of every girl looks like?

I’m going to assume that looks similar to the feces of known amphibians.
I love the father-daughter picture on the wall…
CIA… et gevult…

CIA is involved *If there’s other nations involved*.
Where does Selkie come from?

Ooh. Could be the Canadian side, though. 🙂

*salutes*
LOOVE the picture on the wall. Little details that make it look like shes been there awhile are fun to find!

Same one, yep.

What areas do you feel I could do better on?
Dave,
Don’t worry about the trolls. You’re doing fine. When there have been issues we’ve told you about ’em, and you’ve fixed ’em.

Thank you (and APG as well) for the defense, but negative feedback doesn’t really bother me. I’m just genuinely curious what prompted it.

I try to be cool about non-positive criticism, but I don’t recall you “wrecking” an arc. 🙂

George has a selective memory, but so did I at his age…

Wait, do we know who Agent Brown is? Is he a human agent or is he that agent that looks like a member of Selkie’s species?
